@AfNutr Café

Responding to the new normal of working and studying at home, @AfNutr have created a means for nutritionists to communicate, stay focussed and keep connected. We piloted our first AfNutr Cafés over the lockdown months and since they were very popular (and fun!), we have decided to open our doors again.

AfNutr Cafes are online Zoom chats that bring nutritionists together from all over the globe to network, discuss topical issues in nutrition and share ideas. The format of our AfNutr Cafes varies – there won’t be two sessions the same! The purpose of the online sessions are to ‘e-meet’ other nutritionists – be prepared to talk about yourself, your studies, your work and aspirations.

Depending on what you are interested in gaining, you can sign up to AfNutr Cafe sessions for general networking, or sign up to sessions that have specific topics or themes for discussion.

AfNutr Cafés alternate with our twitter chats on a month by month basis. Attending our online cafe is free and tickets can be found on EventBrite.

After you sign up to an @AfNutr cafe session, you will be assigned to a small group, which will be hosted by one of the @AfNutr team – Suzanne, Vicki, or Lynn. Chats last up to one hour and are informal in nature.

Everyone is welcome, particularly students! These cafes give you a unique opportunity to chat with nutrition professionals working across a wide range of areas including industry, freelance, academia and research, third sector, policy, government, NHS, medicine, education… and more!  We often have the AfN President Dr Margaret Ashwell OBE pop by too for a chat!
